Nepal is an extremely poor and underdeveloped
country, with most of its population relying on
small-scale agriculture. The Himalayan country
of Nepal is renowned for its breathtaking
scenery, its rich cultural heritage and its
friendly people and is dotted with both Hindu
and Buddhist temples and sites of pilgrimage.
Volunteering in Nepal means lot from sharing
extensive knowledge and helping the peoples of
this country taking back the memories of
beauties. Volunteers work in a range of
village-based projects with local people.
Participants experience the traditional way of
life, the culture and the beauty of Nepal, while
engaging in an exchange of ideas and work
practices in the poorest communities.
You are having the greatest moment of your life
helping those poor families and communities with
us in the field of sanitation, health,
environment, education and more.

A) Culture Immersion
Cultural (exchange) Immersion programs can be
arranged in most areas of Nepal. Participants
will be placed with a Nepali family in a small
rural village or within a city for the duration
of their stay. During this period volunteers
will have the opportunity to participate in
local festivals and get the opportunity to
exchange their culture. Volunteers should
remember that this is a cultural exchange and
that an effort to offer some knowledge of their
own home culture and customs to the family with
whom they stay is expected.
Participants in the program will not go through
training in Nepal with the other volunteers.
During their home-stay, volunteers will attend 2
hours of language lessons in the morning and in
the afternoon. They will also have the
opportunity to visit and help out at the local
school. Nepali culture is distinctively friendly
and open and participants are made to feel as
though they are part of the family.
Volunteer also have chance to do adventure,
which includes village visit and hiking,
cultural dance, white water rafting, trekking
and a visit to Chitwan National Park and
elephant safari. This program is a good
opportunity for volunteers to learn about the
Nepali culture, lifestyle, language, and people.
B) Teaching English
Nepal Adventure Point promotes sustainable
solutions to world poverty and disparity through
global partnerships in development, education,
health, and service. More than 80% of the
children from Nepal's villages are unable to
access a good educational system. This is due to
the remote mountain geography and the inability
of the country to fund the needs. Motivated
teachers are often made to teach without basic
school supplies in schools that are in poor
condition. Due to these hearth-wrenching
conditions, our volunteer program has initiated
an effort to improve these conditions by
providing basic necessities and facility
improvements. To do this, we need the donation
of books and stationeries.
The children in the Nepal begin learning English
in grade four in our village school and grade
one in private school, so it's not a surprise
that most of the student have basic level of
English. The benefits of learning English from a
native speaker are inspiring for the young
children. We place volunteers in rural
elementary schools outside of Kathmandu to
assist the local teachers with their English
classes and other subjects. These volunteers are
able to experience living in rural villages and
will observe the true meaning of "community."
Most of our schools welcome volunteers who want
to get involved in other aspects of school life,
or run extra-curricular activities and
after-school clubs. Alongside your
conversational English classes you could help
with Sports. You can teach football, cricket and
volleyball. Everyone enjoys having a volunteer
who is keen to teach English or other subjects
in the morning then get involved with arranging
sports, drama and song in the afternoon.
C) Improves Orphans & Abandon Lives
In the least developed countries like Nepal
where millions of children can not eat, get
clothing or education, we are trying to help at
least some of them so that they can at least
find the true meaning of life. Today's children
will be tomorrow's Parents. We believe that good
children can make the good society and also the
better world to live. As an orphanage volunteer,
you will collaborate with our staff to teach the
basics of the English language and help orphans
with life-skills, by participating in
administrative chores, health education, games,
and by drawing and painting with the children.
By working with orphaned children, you will be
molding the young minds of talented, blossoming,
charming children.
These children are in unfortunate positions in
life, and the impression that you leave on them
will remain for the rest of their lives. This
volunteer work is a great mission and provides a
real, life-changing experience for you as well
as the children. Some orphanages serve as
informal education training centers, and when
you volunteer to become involved in this
program, you will be teaching these innocent
children what it means to have someone who cares
for them. For this reason this small charity
organization is working to change the lives of
poor orphans and abandoned in the community. We
need your help to succeed. Donations are always
welcome and appreciated; we're able to respond
to the growing needs of our host communities
because of the generosity of people like you.
D) Health Care Improvement
Each year, many Nepalese die or suffer
unnecessarily due to lack of health education
and access to adequate health care resources.
The sick in the mountain regions or villages
sometimes die long before a physician can even
diagnose. Because of the poor transportation,
patients often have to be hand-carried in bamboo
baskets to the nearest health center, often many
miles from their village.
Individuals with special knowledge in the
following areas are always needed.
Primary Care and General Medicine
General Dentistry/ Oral Surgery
Pediatrics
Gynecology and Women's Health
Health Education
HIV/AIDS counseling
E) School & Community Maintenance
Without a school, where do kids get an
education? Sadly, the answer is: They do not.
Volunteer Program is one of few organizations
that targets its activities towards a specific
school and strives to bring that school up to
basic educational levels. Your contribution will
be targeted to one school and you will be able
to track the progress of your school and its
students. Education is a priority in Nepal
because it is a crucial building block in the
country's reconstruction and revitalization.
However, thousands of children are deprived of
an education because there are not enough
schools in Nepal, especially in rural areas
where 75 percent of the nation's population
lives.
The Nepalese government simply does not have
enough money to meet the demand for the
construction of new schools. We strive to close
this educational gap by funding the construction
and renovation of kindergarten and elementary
schools.
Nepal is moving from an agricultural society
into a commercial one. This transition is
stressing the education system at all levels,
especially when it comes to primary schools. We
strive to create access to basic education for
students in rural and underserved areas so they
might have a chance at participating in the
emerging economy.
F) Environmental Awareness
This programme mainly aims to raise awareness on
environment conservation. The programme deals
with teaching environmental science in school,
youth clubs and women group. Volunteers will
teach environmental education for about 2 to 3
hours each day for 6 days a week. When training
is over, volunteers will stay with the host
family in their placement area.
This programme covers
Environmental awareness
Waste management
Building smokeless stove
Pit latrines
Creating green clubs
Making a flower gardens
Prepare plastic recycling
