Yala Peak (5732m) is situated north from
Kathmandu near border of Tibet (China) in
Langtang Himal Range which is protected as
Langtang National Park and has a number of high
peaks including Langtang Lirung (7246m). Yala
Peak is a moderate trekking peak in the Langtang
region which is a fantastic beginner’s
mountaineering trip.
We start in Syabrubesi after a 7 to 8 hour drive
from Kathmandu by regular bus and we flow the
trekking route of Langtang valley on till
Kyanjin Gompa (3800m). Kyanjin Gompa is the last
village in this valley which is situated below
Langtang Lirung (7246m). We take rest in
Kyangjin Gompa and walk up to Lirung Glacier and
Kyangjin-Ri (4700m). From Kyangjin Gompa you
will pass through the old small air port than
you torn to north small gorges to Yala Peak Base
Camp (4800m) and next day climb to Yala Peak
(5732m). From the summit offer you spectacular
views of Langtang Lirung, Langsisha, Gangchepo,
Dorje Lakpa and Naya Kanga.
