TREKKING IN EVEREST REGION

 

Everest region is second most popular trekking destination after the Annapurna region in Nepal. The Everest region is located in the north-east of Nepal and most visited part of the country by trekkers and mountaineers. Solukhumbu district of Nepal is home land of legendry Sherpa people and highest peak of the world, the Mt. Everest (8848M). To the north of Solukhumbu is Everest national Park, while to the east is Makalu Barun National Park. This is an ultimate dream for all adventurous people to see Everest famous mountaineering region, unforgettable panoramic views and as well as conserved vast bio-diversity. The major ethnic groups Sherpa in the Khumbu region and lower part has Rai, Tamang, Bramins, Chhertis. Animals can be sighted mountain goat, musk deer and barking deer in the forest and some different species of high mountain birds including Danfe snow pigeons.

This normally can starts walk from Jiri and fly out from Lukla and those who insist their time is limited can fly in and out to Lukla which is served by few airlines with daily flight from Kathmandu. The trekking is possible in this area, the whole year around, but the best times to visit are from the beginning of March to mid May and from the beginning of September to mid November. There are several different trekking route and area for the different people’s interest short and month long trekking with passes among the many routes Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Valley and so on. This region does not required special permits for trekking or visit only National Park entry fees can be paid in Kathmandu National Park desk.
