This FAQ is designed to answer many of the
questions for people who are planning and
preparing for a rafting trip to Nepal. The
questions listed here, and their respective
answers are meant only as a general guide to
help you plan and organize your rafting trip
before the booking your rafting trip.
What does mean white water rafting?
White water rafting means cruising down a
rushing river in an inflatable rubber raft or
white kayak over crashing waves and swirling
rapids for the excitement of a lifetime. Nepal
has earned a reputation as one of the best
destinations in the world for white water
rafting. Nepal’s thundering waters, coming from
the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya, provide
unmatched thrills for rafting and immersing
oneself in the landscape. A rafting trip is
bound to be the highlight of your stay in the
country.
When is best time for Rafting in Nepal?
For rafting October through mid-December and
March through early May are the best times. In
this time you will have great mountains views,
clear sky and rewarding natural scenery. In
winter it is possible but you have to watch out
for hypothermia. In this time you certainly
should expect cold water and perhaps think in
terms of wet suits and dry tops. Monsoon time is
dangerous which brings heavy rains that flood
the rivers most so people wouldn't want to be
kayaking or rafting at this time.
Is rafting dangerous?
Rafting is thrilling, exciting, wet, wild and
unbelievably fun. However, as in all adventure
sports, there is an inherent risk involved. That
risk contributes to the excitement, and is one
of the reasons people enjoying it so much. Our
guides are trained to minimize risks, and,
statistically, you're safer on a raft than in
your car. One state government found in an
investigation that the injury rate for
whitewater rafting is similar to that for
bowling! But still, there is a risk, and you
must accept that risk when you go on the river.
By the way, the most common injury is sunburn,
and most other injuries occur on land,
especially getting into and out of the boats.

but it is not must. Safety jackets and helmets
make you float in case you fall into the river.
If you're in doubt about your ability to go
rafting, or your fitness, check with your doctor
before you go.

for me?

IV trip. An alternative is to ride along on an
oar boat, which many companies offer on
different rivers. If you are confident in the
