Days 01 :
On arrival in Delhi you will
be met our representative
and transferred to the
hotel. Delhi is the main
gateway for travellers.
Days 02 :
In the morning a short
flight brings us to Leh, the capital of Ladakh.
Due to its altitude (3500m.)
Ladakh is also known as the
roof of the world. Leh was
an important place in the
historical times on the Silk
Road to central Asia. The
rest of the day is at
leisure to acclimatize you
to the high altitude of Leh.
In the evening you will be
visiting Leh Bazaar and Leh
monastery.
Days 03 :
This day you will explore
the local attractions and
the magnificent monasteries
of Shey, Hemis and Thikse. We
visit the monastery of
Thikse. Thikse is one of the
most imposing monasteries in
Ladakh. The monastery has 12
stories, 10 temples, a
nunnery and 60 lamas in
residence. It contains
numerous stupas, statues,
Thankhas, wall painting and
a large pillar engraved with
the teaching of Buddha. We
can also see here a
collection of Tibetan
scripts. After the visit of
Thikse we visit the village
of Shey on the eastern bank
of the Indus. Shey was the
royal residence and was
located at an important
vantage point in the Indus
valley. It has a large
victory Stupa that is topped
with gold. After the visit
of the monastery of Shey we
visit the monastery of Hemis.
The rich monastery of Hemis
is the biggest in Ladakh and
is perched on top of a
pleasant green hill
surrounded by spectacular
mountain scenery.
Days 04 : This day after
having breakfast we visit
the Phyang monastery and
then start the trek from
Phyang village. Gompa Phyang
is a traditional monastery
setting for a spectacular
religious festival with
masked dancing. There are 50
red-capped monks residing
here.
Days 05 :
This day we start our
trekking excursion from Phyang. The trek passes over
the barren and dry landscape
as we cross over the highest
point at Lasirmo-La (5300m).
The high mountain pass
offers some spectacular
views of the Karakoram,
Ladakh and Zanskar ranges.
From Lasirmo-La, the trail
descends into the Nubra
valley near Hunder and from
here the topology changes
into a dry plateau. In the
evening we will arrive in
Hunder.
Days 06 :
In the morning from Hunder we will be
transferred on our vehicles
to Khalsar along the banks
of Shiyok River and then by
starting the trekking again
we pass through some remote
villages and finally cross
Digger-La (5200m). The high
mountain pass offers the
panoramic views of both
Ladakh and Nubra valley.
Days 07 : In the morning from
Digger we will move towards
our final trekking
destination which is Saboo.
Our trek will finish at the
Saboo village.
Days 08 :
In the morning after having
breakfast we will return to Leh. Upon arrival
in Leh you will be
transferred to the hotel.
The day is at leisure to
have rest after a long
tiresome journey.
Days 09 :
In the morning transfer to
the airport to board flight
for New Delhi. Upon arrival,
you will be met our
representative and
transferred to the hotel.
The rest of the day at
leisure to explore the local
market.
Days 10 :
In the morning we will have
sightseeing of old Delhi.
Sightseeing of old Delhi
includes "Rajghat", "Jama
Masjid" and the great mosque
of old Delhi. This day we
also visit the famous "Humayun
Tomb" which is the first
substantial example of
Mughal architecture in
India. We will also visit "Kutab
Minar" which is 71 meter
high and consists of five
stories. In 1199 work began
on this tower, which was
intended to be the most
glorious tower of victory in
the world. Before we proceed
to the hotel we will drive
through New Delhi where we
will visit the India gate,
government buildings and
Embassies.
Days 11 :
Delhi flight to
onward destination.
