Days 01 :
On arrival in Delhi you will
be met our representative
and transferred to the
hotel. Delhi is the main
gateway for travellers.
Days 02 :
Early morning we have
trans-Himalayas flight to
Leh. Upon arrival, you will
be met by representative and
transferred to your hotel.
We recommend you relax and
undergo minimal exertion to
enable your selves
acclimatize to rarefied air
of this remote region
ensconced in the high
Himalayan plateau. In the
evening, the group will
gather for dinner and meet
with your guide.
Days 03 :
This day we explore the
magnificent local
monasteries of Shey and
Thikse. Shey monastery is
situated on the eastern bank
of the Indus. Shey was the
royal Residence and was
located at an important
vantage point in the Indus
valley. According to
tradition, it was the seat
of power of the pre-Tibetan
kings. A 7.5 metre high
copper statue of Buddha,
plated with gold, and the
largest of its kind, is
installed here. After the
visit of Shey monastery we
visit Thikse. Thikse is one
of the most imposing
monasteries in Ladakh. The
monastery has 12 stories, 10
temples, a nunnery and 60
lamas in residence. It
contains numerous stupas,
statues, tankhas, wall
painting and a large pillar
engraved with the teaching
of Buddha. We can also see
here a collection of Tibetan
scripts.
Days 04 :
This day after having
breakfast we drive to Stok
from there we start our
trekking tour. The
attraction of Stok remains
the palace of Stok, which is
200 years old. The palace
and museum at Stok is a
showpiece for the royal
Thankhas, royal crown,
dresses, coins, precious
stones and turquoise
headdresses.
Days 05 :
This day we start our
trekking excursion from Stok.
First of all we cross the
Zingchen River on our way to
Ganda-La pass (4680m). The
surrounding barren landscape
lies in shadow of the mighty
Karakoram Range. Following
the Markha River we head
east and up to Markha
monastery, well known for
the traditional Buddhist
paintings. We visit this
monastery and have an
overnight stay in Markha
itself.
Days 06 :
Start trek towards the main
valley on the right bank.
The path is sometimes
difficult in the riverbed
and passes the monastery of
Humlung. Then carry on treks
along the right bank and
arrive in Hankar where there
are several houses. The path
improves and cross a broad
valley on the right side.
The valley becomes narrow
and higher and cross bridges
on to the left bank and then
reaches Tchatchuste.
Days 07 :
Trek starts on good path and
several small inclines. The
river is rather far to the
other side and walk nears a
small Lake, then cross
pasture to Nimaling. This is
one of most beautiful high
valleys in Ladakh dominated
by the Kang Yaze. Trek
ascent towards other side
and gradually reach
Nimaling.
Days 08 :
Cross the Markha valley and
follow long climb along the
mountain side, then zigzag
road leads towards
Kongmarula. Follow steep
descent into gorges and then
keep walking on the left
bank to Chukirmo. Thereafter
crossing right and left bank
and arrive Shang, a
beautiful camp in groves and
there is a monastery an hour
away from the village.
Days 09 :
This day in the morning you
will move towards the last
trekking destination which
is Hemis. It is an exciting
route passing through some
remote villages,
monasteries, and crossing
over high passes and wading
across the wild streams in
an almost mystical landscape
of contorted mountain
strata. The trekking would
not be a tiresome as we
descend through the gorges
of wonderfully colored rocks
to Martselang, where we meet
our Jeeps to visit the
famous Hemis monastery.
Today we also visit the
monastery of Hemis. The rich
monastery of Hemis is the
biggest in Ladakh and is
perched on top of a pleasant
green hill surrounded by
spectacular mountain
scenery.
Days 10 :
This day we drive back in
our vehicles towards Leh.
The rest of the day at
leisure to explore the local
market.
Days 11 :
After early breakfast
transfer in time to the
airport to for onwards
destination flight.
