Days 01 :
Arrive at Tribhuwan
international airport,
Kathmandu, you are welcomed
by the hospitable meeting
and then you will be
transferred to your hotel.
Short briefing will be
followed about necessary
formalities and rest of the
program. Depending on
arrival time you will have
choice of visiting nearby
sanctuaries or have a rest
day.
Days 02 :
After breakfast we drive to Swoyambhunatha
stupa has it that Manjushree,
found of Kathmandu valley,
and discovered the lotus of
ancient valley lake on which
site the great stupa of
swoyambhunath was later
built. The omni sighted
stare of Buddha greets
visitors & residents a like
compassion. This is one of
the oldest Buddhist stupa in
the world, which has been
registered in UNICEOO
heritage side. We then visit
to Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Kathmandu durbar square
situated the center of
Kathmandu where you can see
the House of Living
Goddess”KUMARI” Kasthamandup
temple” Said that was built
from single tree in 16th
century, big bell-big drams,
erotic carving in old
temple, old palace etc. We
then finally were
sightseeing to Patan Durbar
Square. Patan Durbar square
is one of the beautiful
Durbars square in Kathmandu
valley. It is very famous
for woodcarving, Metal
works, Temples and
Monasteries. Tour of Patan
includes tour of Krishna
temple, Patan king’s palace,
Golden temple and much more.
Days 03 :
After breakfast we drive to
the airport for the flight
to Bhadrapur//Biratnagar. After
the arrival in
Bhadrapur/Biratnagar we
proceed through the
coniferous forests and
terraced tea gardens to
Gangtok, which is the
capital city of Sikkim. The
capital of Sikkim 'Gangtok'
lies on a ridge overlooking
the Ranipool River. Gangtok
(High Hill) lies at an
altitude of (1760m.) The
mountains, especially from
Kanchenjunga range, surround
Gangtok. Upon arrival, you
will be transferred to the
hotel in Gangtok. In the
evening we visit orchid
Sanctuary which is lying
south of the institute. This
sanctuary contains over 450
indigenous species. Sikkim
is considered paradise for
orchid lovers.
Days 04 : This day we drive to
the Enchey monastery. This
monastery is believed to be
200 years old. The monks of
this monastery belong to the
Mahayana Buddhism. After
visiting the monastery we
visit the institute of
cottage industries. It is
the main attraction as a
wide range of local
handicrafts in Lepcha style
are produced here. In the
evening we visit the unique
Research Institute of
Tibetology on a hilltop,
which was established in
1958 to promote research on
Tibet and Mahayana Buddhism.
Here we will see the biggest
collection of Tibetan
scripts and an excellent
collection of rare Tankhas,
bronze and cult objects.
Days 05 :
In the morning we visit the Rumtek monastery.
Rumtek monastery was built
as a true copy of a Tibetan
monastery in recent years.
Rumtek is headquartering of
Red hat sect of Tibetan
Lamaistic Buddhism. Later
drive to Yuksom. En-route we
come across some tea estates
and coniferous forests. In
the evening arrive in
Yuksom.
Days 06 :
This day we begin our
trekking tour from Yuksom to Tshoka. Yuksom is
also the trekking base of
Sikkim. Yuksom was the first
capital of Sikkim and it was
here that the three holy
Lamas consecrated the first
Chogyal. The place where the
ceremony takes place in the
year 1642 can still be seen
there. On the way you will
come across the sky
embracing trees and meadows
and meandering past huts.
After a six to seven hours
long trekking we reach
Tshoka and have an overnight
stay there only. Tshoka is a
small village, which consist
of various small houses and
a monastery.
Days 07 :
The day is free to have rest
and explore the surroundings
in Tshoka.
Days 08 :
This day we begin our trek
to Dzongri. From
Tshoka the trekking to
Dzongri will be for about
four to five hours. By the
afternoon you will be able
to reach Dzongri. From the
Dzongri Pass the view of the
mountain ranges is heavenly.
In the front you will be
able to view the Kabur Dome
and piercing the sky is the
Mount Pandim. In the north
you will be able to view
Mount Kanchenjunga and the
other mountain peaks.
Days 09 : It is a four hours
walk from Dzongri to
Thansing, the trail at the
beginning is flat and passes
through the bushes. Later,
it rapidly descends to the
river Prek.
Days 10 :
The trek from Thansing to Samiti Lake
takes about approx 3 hrs. It
is just an easy trek through
thin vegetation.
Days 11 :
Then back to Samiti
It is approximately 7 hours
trek to Goechala and return.
The trail in the beginning
is an easy, later it passes
through moraines before
reaching Goechala. En route,
we can view green lake
formed right below the path
deep down. We retrace to
Samiti.
Days 12 :
It is approximately three
hours trek from Samiti
to Cokchurung.
Days 13 : A long trekking day
through thick forest, it
approximately takes 5 hours.
From Cokchorung the entire
trail gradually descends to
Tshoka.
Days 14 :
After early breakfast drive
to Yuksom,
the first capital of Sikkim
where the first Chogyal
(Religious King) of Sikkim
was consecrated in 1642. On
the way visit Kecheopalri
Lake. Check into hotel and
after lunch walk to hermit's
retreat at Dhubdi Monastery,
possibly the oldest
monastery in Sikkim.
Days 15 :
Drive back to Darjeeling.
Stay overnight at Hotel
Days 16 :
Early morning tour to Tiger
Hills to view sunrise over Kanchenjunga
Peak. The view is
spectacular on a clear
weather day. On way back
visit Ghoom Monastery,
Batasia Loop. Afternoon
visit to Rock Garden, Ganga
Maya Lake, Padmaja Naidu
Himalayan Zoological Park,
Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute, Tenzing, Gumbu
Rock site and Tibetan
Refugee self-help.
Days 17 :
Early in the morning after
having breakfast we drive to
airport for the flight from Bhadrapur to
Kathmnandu. On arrival in
Kathmandu transfer to the
hotel. The remainder of the
day has been left free.
Days 18 : After breakfast we
drive to Bhaktapur.
Bhaktapur is one of the
oldest cities in Kathmandu
valley. It is well known as
Living Museum. Old brick
paved enclave of old Royal
palace, Nyathapola Temple,
Datatriya temple exquisite
artwork offers a picture of
the grandeur of medieval
Nepal. It is very famous for
woodcarving and pottery
products. We then proceed on
tour of Changunarayan: This
is one of the oldest Hindu
temples in Kathmandu valley
that exists in the valley
dating back to the 4th
century then evening we
drive to Nagarkot. Nagarkot
is situated (2300m) above
the sea level. This spot
provides an excellent view
of the sunset and Mt.
Everest can be seen on a
clear day.
Days 19 :
Wake up early to watch the
sunrise spectacular down the
first rays of the sun firing
the peaks a hilliest red
slowly lighting of the
Himalayas from Kanchenjunga and
Everest in the far east of
Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in
the west. After breakfast
we'll drive to Dhulikhel.
Which is situated (1700m)
from sea level and 30-kms
north of Kathmandu. This is
perfect place to see the
sunset, sunrise & Himalayan
ranges. Afternoon enjoy the
optional activities such as
hiking to Navabouddha,
Buddhists call it
"Tamangligi", the famous
Buddhist spot, where Lord
Buddha (on 7th
re-incarnation) sacrificed
his body to hungry Tigress
and its cubs then return to
hotel.
Days 20 :
Wake up call to see sunrise
and the Himalayan range.
After breakfast we drive to Pashupatinath
temple. The holiest of holy
Hindu temple in south Asia
is the focal point of
pilgrimage from all over the
sub-continent. The holy
river Bagmati flowing nearby
is the cremation ground of
the Hindus. Funeral pyres
can be viewed from across
the riverbank. We then visit
to Boudhanath stupa.
Probably the largest stupa
in the world is also found
in Kathmandu valley the
great stupa of Boudhanath.
Again the omni-sighted eyes
of the Budha stare all the
directions. This stupa is
the place of worship of
Tibetan Buddhists
predominantly. Evening drive
to hotel and you has free
evening for shopping to pick
up last minute souvenir.
Days 21 : After breakfast you
will have some free time
until the time to leave the
international airport for
your final departure.
