Days 01 :
Arrive at Tribhuwan
international airport,
Kathmandu, you are welcomed
by the hospitable meeting
and then you will be
transferred to your hotel.
Short briefing will be
followed about necessary
formalities and rest of the
program. Depending on
arrival time you will have
choice of visiting nearby
sanctuaries or have a rest
day.
Days 02 :
After breakfast we drive to
Swoyambhunatha stupa has it
that Manjushree, found of
Kathmandu valley, and
discovered the lotus of
ancient valley lake on which
site the great stupa of
swoyambhunath was later
built. The omni sighted
stare of Buddha greets
visitors & residents a like
compassion. This is one of
the oldest Buddhist stupa in
the world, which has been
registered in UNICEOO
heritage side. We then visit
to Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Kathmandu durbar square
situated the center of
Kathmandu where you can see
the House of Living
Goddess”KUMARI” Kasthamandup
temple” Said that was built
from single tree in 16th
century, big bell-big drams,
erotic carving in old
temple, old palace etc. We
then finally were
sightseeing to Patan Durbar
Square. Patan Durbar square
is one of the beautiful
Durbars square in Kathmandu
valley. It is very famous
for woodcarving, Metal
works, Temples and
Monasteries. Tour of Patan
includes tour of Krishna
temple, Patan king’s palace,
Golden temple and much more.
Days 03 :
In the morning we drive to
the airport for the flight
to Paro. Upon arrival, you
will be transferred to the
hotel in Paro. This
beautiful valley with its
rich terraced farmland is
home to some of the Bhutan's
oldest temples and
monasteries. In the
afternoon we visit the
National Museum. After the
visit of the National museum
we go for an excursion to
Taktstang monastery. In
April 1998 a fire destroyed
the main structure of
Taktstang Monastery, It is
also known as 'Tiger's den'
because Guru Rinpoche is
said to have flown to the
site on the back of a
tigress in the eighth
century. It has been one of
the kingdom's most sacred
sites and will be rebuilt in
its original style once an
auspicious date has been
chosen.
Days 04 :
In the morning we will visit
the Rinpung Dzong. Shabdrung
Ngwang Namgyal, the first
spiritual and temporal ruler
of Bhutan, built it in 1646.
Rinpung Dzong means the
fortress on a heap of
jewels. This fortress now
houses the Paro monastic
school and the office of the
civil administration. We
also visit the Ta Dzong.
Looking down upon the
Rinpung Dzong is the Ta
Dzong, which was built in
1651 as a watchtower. This
dzong is round more like
parts of a European castle.
In the evening we visit the
Drugyal Dzong. It means the
victorious fortress, which
was built in 1647 by
Shabdrung to celebrate his
victory over the Tibetan
invaders. Strategically
built over the only passage
into the Paro valley, the
dzong helped to rebel
various invasions through
the course of Bhutanese
history.
Days 05 :
This day after having
breakfast we drive to
Thimphu. Thimphu is the
modern capital of Bhutan. It
lies at an elevation of 2300
m in a valley traversed by
the Wang Chu River. This
city maintains a strong
national character in its
architectural style. This
morning we set out on a
sightseeing tour of Thimphu.
First of all we visit the
Tashichho Dzong on the bank
of the river. It is the main
Secretariat building, which
houses the throne room of
His Majesty, the King of
Bhutan and is also the
summer residence of the
central monk body. After
visiting the Secretariat
building we visit the
national library to see the
rare and precious collection
of Buddhism. In the evening
we visit the Memorial
Chorten. Memorial Chorten is
a stupa and was built in the
year 1974 in the memory of
the late third king Jigme
Dorji Wangchuk. The
paintings and images inside
the monument provide a rare
sight into the Buddhist
philosophy.
Days 06 :
In the morning we visit the
17th century Simtokha Dzong.
It is the oldest Dzong in
the country, which stands on
a lofty ridge at the end of
the valley. It was built in
the year 1627 and now houses
the school for Buddhist
studies. Today we also visit
a painting school. In this
painting school the young
children learn the ancient
art of paintings. After
visiting the painting school
we visit the centre of
traditional medicines.
Bhutan has its own brand of
Himalayan herbal medicines.
Days 07 :
In the morning we drive to
Punakha. Punakha was built
between two rivers in the
17th century by Shabdrung
and served as the winter
residence of the central
monk body. Punakha served as
the capital of Bhutan until
1955. Upon arrival, you will
be transferred to the hotel
in Punakha. In the evening
visit the Punakha town.
Days 08 :
In the morning we will drive
to Wangdiphodrang. It is the
last town on the central
highway before entering
central Bhutan.
Wangdiphodrang Dzong was
built during the 17th
century and it played a
critical role in unifying
the western, central and
southern Bhutanese
districts. After visiting
the Wangdiphodrang Dzong and
having lunch there we return
back to Punakha. In the
evening we visit the Punakha
Dzong. This dzong houses
sacred artifacts and
embalmed body of Shabdrung.
Days 09 :
In the morning we drive to
Paro. Upon arrival, you will
be transferred to the hotel
in Paro. Rest of the day at
leisure.
Days 10 :
In the morning we drive to
the airport for the flight
to Kathmandu. On arrival in
Kathmandu transfer to the
hotel. The remainder of the
day has been left free.
Days 11 :
After breakfast we drive to
Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is one
of the oldest cities in
Kathmandu valley. It is well
known as Living Museum. Old
brick paved enclave of old
Royal palace, Nyathapola
Temple, Datatriya temple
exquisite artwork offers a
picture of the grandeur of
medieval Nepal. It is very
famous for woodcarving and
pottery products. We then
proceed on tour of
Changunarayan: This is one
of the oldest Hindu temples
in Kathmandu valley that
exists in the valley dating
back to the 4th century then
evening we drive to
Nagarkot. Nagarkot is
situated (2300m) above the
sea level. This spot
provides an excellent view
of the sunset and Mt.
Everest can be seen on a
clear day.
Days 12 :
Wake up early to watch the
sunrise spectacular down the
first rays of the sun firing
the peaks a hilliest red
slowly lighting of the
Himalayas from Kanchenjunga
and Everest in the far east
of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri
in the west. After breakfast
we'll drive to Dhulikhel.
Which is situated (1700m)
from sea level and 30-kms
north of Kathmandu. This is
perfect place to see the
sunset, sunrise & Himalayan
ranges. Afternoon enjoy the
optional activities such as
hiking to Navabouddha,
Buddhists call it "Tamangligi",
the famous Buddhist spot,
where Lord Buddha (on 7th
re-incarnation) sacrificed
his body to hungry Tigress
and its cubs then return to
hotel.
Days 13 :
Wake up call to see sunrise
and the Himalayan range.
After breakfast we drive to
Pashupatinath temple. The
holiest of holy Hindu temple
in south Asia is the focal
point of pilgrimage from all
over the sub-continent. The
holy river Bagmati flowing
nearby is the cremation
ground of the Hindus.
Funeral pyres can be viewed
from across the riverbank.
We then visit to Boudhanath
stupa. Probably the largest
stupa in the world is also
found in Kathmandu valley
the great stupa of
Boudhanath. Again the
omni-sighted eyes of the
Budha stare all the
directions. This stupa is
the place of worship of
Tibetan Buddhists
predominantly. Evening drive
to hotel and you has free
evening for shopping to pick
up last minute souvenir.
Days 14 :
After breakfast you will
have some free time until
the time to leave the
international airport for
your final departure.
